Besto 300N SOLAS TWIN Wipe Clean: automatic twin-chamber lifejacket for professional use offshore, with harness, light and wipe-clean cover. Read more.
The Besto 300N SOLAS TWIN Wipe Clean is an automatic inflatable lifejacket for professional use and demanding conditions on open water, such as offshore work, commercial shipping and rescue operations. It is yellow for high visibility and has a removable, washable outer cover (wipe clean), practical in working environments.
300N stands for 300 Newton of buoyancy. Lifejackets in this class are intended for heavy conditions at sea and for wearers with heavy work clothing or tools who need extra lift to be turned face-up. For leisure use on inland waters 150N is usually sufficient. SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) is the international convention for safety at sea; a SOLAS-approved jacket meets the stricter requirements for commercial life-saving equipment. TWIN refers to the double-chamber design: if one chamber fails, buoyancy remains.
An inflatable lifejacket only works well when correctly adjusted. Adjust the straps so the jacket sits snugly but comfortably; a loose jacket can ride up on inflation. Always use the crotch/leg strap. Re-check the fit with thicker or thinner clothing.
