Sailing school, marina and event location De Duikelaar is a welcoming and accessible place, where both young and old can discover the world of water sports or further develop their skills as experienced water sports enthusiasts. Moreover, the accommodation with terrace is the ideal location for renting out and organising various events, such as weddings and company outings.
For many years, De Duikelaar has been a well-known concept at the Sloterplas. In recent years, the area on the north side of the Sloterplas has undergone a considerable upgrade and has been substantially refurbished. Naturally, they have kept up with this development, making the accommodation with its terrace an attractive place to hang out.
At the water sports centre, you can learn to sail, canoe and surf. They organise courses for both youth and adults, both individually and for schools and groups.
Want to moor your boat easily and close to Amsterdam's canals? You can! The marina, located next to the accommodation, can accommodate 120 ships.
If you are interested or have any questions, don't hesitate to contact them by phone 06 8146 6991 or by e-mail at [email protected].
Sailing courses: Taking sailing courses at De Duikelaar in Amsterdam is a fantastic experience. Come to one of their water sports activities and experience it for yourself!
They organise sailing courses for both youth and adults, individually as well as for schools and groups.
Safety is at the heart of their courses. They also take into account the age and level of participants, and select the right sailboat accordingly. They offer an 'Optimist' sailboat for the youngest participants aged 7-10. Around the age of 10 or 11, young skippers can try out the 'Open Bic' sailboat for the first time. Once they are comfortable and reach the age of 12, they can switch to the two-seater sailboat 'Rebel'. They customise their choice on an individual basis.
Watersports goes beyond just knowing how a boat or canoe works, with water and wind; it also includes cooperation, fun, decision-making and developing a sense of responsibility for a boat and fellow sailors. In water sports, you also learn to respect others and trust each other. You can learn all this during one of their activities.
Marina: De Duikelaar is a marina with 120 moorings. Sanitary facilities and electrical connections are available. After a wonderful day on the water, you can enjoy a drink or a snack on their terrace.
Their moorings are suitable for vessels up to 12 metres in length with a draft of one and a half metres. If you want your boat on dry land in winter, this is possible for ships up to a length of about six metres.
Accessibility Sloterplas by water: Their marina, located on the north side of Sloterplas, is accessible via the Akers lock (lock no 102) and the Cramergracht lock (lock no 112). Both locks are operated remotely. If you want to lock, call the Nieuwe Meersluis on 020-4083000 the moment you are in front of the lock. Vessels with a headway of 2.10 metres can usually pass under the bridges, but check the current water level!
