The HX320E is a portable VHF marine radio from Standard Horizon for communication with other vessels, lock and bridge keepers and traffic centres. It stands out with two modern extras: Bluetooth and USB-C charging. Pair a wireless headset (sold separately) to communicate hands-free while steering or mooring, and charge anywhere via USB-C – from a power bank or the 12 V socket on board.
The ATIS code is user-programmable and the channel set complies with the latest VDES channel plan. Up to 10 preset channels can be stored and the backlit dot-matrix LCD is easy to read in low light. The E2O operating system has a clear menu structure.
At 290 g including antenna and clip the HX320E floats if dropped overboard. The housing is IPX7 (1 m for 30 minutes). On contact with water a strobe light activates automatically. Standard Horizon gives a 3-year warranty including waterproofing.
